📘 Auxiliary Verbs

Auxiliary verbs (also called helping verbs) assist the main verb to create various verb forms like tenses, questions, and negatives.


1️⃣ Common Auxiliary Verbs

Auxiliary Verb Use Example
Be (am, is, are, was, were) Form continuous tenses and passive voice She is running. The cake was eaten.
Have (has, have, had) Form perfect tenses They have finished.
Do (do, does, did) Form questions and negatives in simple tenses Do you like coffee? I did not go.
