Regular Verbs

Regular verbs form their past simple and past participle by adding -ed to the base verb.

📌 Rules for Regular Verbs:

Base Verb Past Simple Rule
work worked Add -ed
like liked Add -d if it ends in "e"
stop stopped Double the last consonant + ed
cry cried Change "y" to "i" + ed

Irregular Verbs

Irregular verbs do not follow the -ed rule.
Their past forms must be memorized.

📋 Examples of Irregular Verbs:

🔹 Irregular verbs often have unique forms.
🔸 Example:

  • I go to school → I went to school (not "goed")
  • She has a cat → She had a cat

  • Use flashcards or verb lists
